1. General Terms
By joining the AroundManchester.com™ Tutors & Education Directory, providers agree to these terms and conditions. AroundManchester.com™ is operated by Tsunagi Limited, registered in England & Wales (Company No. 16808727).
2. Eligibility
- Sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies providing tuition or education services may join the directory.
- Providers must be at least 18 years old.
- All services offered must be legal in the United Kingdom.
- Relevant qualifications or demonstrable teaching experience is required for listing approval.
- Driving instructors must hold a valid DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) badge or be a registered trainee.
3. Safeguarding
- Required: An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required for all tutors working with children or vulnerable adults.
- DBS certificates must be renewed in accordance with current guidance.
- Tutors registered with the DBS Update Service are preferred and will receive a verification badge.
- Any safeguarding concern will result in immediate suspension from the directory and reporting to the appropriate authorities.
- Tutors must follow current safeguarding best practices as outlined by the DfE.
4. Insurance
- Recommended: Public liability insurance is strongly recommended for all tutors and education providers.
- Professional indemnity insurance is additionally recommended.
- Insured providers will receive a visible verification badge on their listing.
- Driving instructors must hold valid motor insurance covering tuition use.
5. Professional Standards
- Tutors must deliver tuition to the standard agreed with the client.
- Lessons should be planned, structured, and tailored to the learner’s needs.
- Punctuality and reliability are expected at all times.
- Professional boundaries must be maintained with all students.
- Tutors registered with professional bodies (e.g., The Tutors’ Association, ISM, DVSA) must comply with their codes of conduct.
6. Contracts & Payments
- AroundManchester.com™ facilitates connections but does not manage contracts or payments.
- All contracts are between the tutor and client directly.
- Cancellation policies must be clearly communicated before lessons begin.
- Payment terms must be transparent and agreed in advance.
- Tutors are responsible for their own tax obligations including income tax, National Insurance, and VAT where applicable.
7. Listing Information
- All information provided must be accurate and not misleading.
- Hourly rates must be clearly stated or marked as “contact for quote.”
- Qualifications listed must be genuine and current.
- Availability and teaching locations must be kept up to date.
8. Content Guidelines
- Profile content must be appropriate for all ages viewing the directory.
- All age friendly details and content.
- No content promoting illegal activities or discrimination.
- AroundManchester.com™ reserves the right to edit or remove inappropriate content prior to publishing.
9. Testimonials
- Testimonials are provided by the tutor and verified before publishing.
- Fake or misleading testimonials are prohibited.
- Testimonials that cannot be verified will not be listed.
10. Limitation of Liability
- AroundManchester.com™ acts as a directory platform only.
- We do not employ or represent any listed tutors or education providers.
- We are not responsible for the quality, conduct, or outcomes of any tuition engagement.
- All disputes are between the tutor and client.
- AroundManchester.com™ is not liable for any exam results, learning outcomes, or financial loss arising from any tuition engagement.
11. Data Protection
- Tutor data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- Contact details may be visible to potential clients.
- Student and client data obtained through enquiries must be handled in compliance with UK GDPR.
- Special care must be taken with data relating to children under 16.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
